Cabarete is a great place to learn how to kitesurf. The wind rises gently between 11 am and 1 pm, then becomes progressively stronger throughout the day.
Mornings are perfect for the theory and practice on the beach before going out later in the day to practice on the water.
Kitesurfing is very easy to learn but it can also be very dangerous. The lessons are an absolute necessity. With all the professional instructors you will learn kitesurfing in Cabarete quickly and safely.
Visit our section "Kite school."
The Cabarete beach is composed of two parts: east "Cabarete beach" mostly reserved for the windsurfers and west, facing Millennium, "Bozo beach" for kiters, remember to respect the
This is the area which hosts the World Cup.
Further west, you find the famous beach called "Kite Beach". The water there is much flatter than in the Bay of Cabarete, this is the place to start and do your first kite training.
For those who wish to leave the beaten track, you can go to "La Boca de Yasica", which is a great place with a 100% smooth surpace. Then after playing there for a while, you can go on your kite about 6 km back to Cabarete by downwind with the trade winds. However, only trained kitesurfers can try this. There are other places that the locals will be happy to show you.
Here's a video of Tom Short and Aaron Hadlow tour in spring 2011, you will discover the exotic atmosphere that reigns here ... and the different spots:
La Boca, Kite Beach, Bozo Beach and some "secret spots"!
