There are 3 major bus companies in the country and they all drive air-conditioned and comfortable 52-seat buses. Their rates are quite reasonable as well. None of them travel as far as Cabarete so you will have to take a taxi or public transport from their final destination terminal. For this reason, we recommend that you take Caribe Tours because it’s last terminal is based in Sosua Cheramico, just 15 minutes from Cabarete. You can also take Metro and Terra bus companies, but their last terminals are based in Puerto Plata, a 45 minutes drive from Cabarete.

• Caribe Tours :

  

  Santo Domingo to Sosua, cost : 220 RD$
  Route: Santo Domingo − La Vega − Santiago − Puerto Plata − Sosua.
  Departure schedule at 6:00 AM and then every hour, last bus at 7:00 PM.

  Sosua to Santo Domingo, cost : 220 RD$
  Route: Sosua − Puerto Plata − Santiago − La Vega − Santo Domingo.
  Departure schedule at 5:20 AM and then every hour, last bus at 6:20 PM.

  

  Sosua to Santiago, cost : 80 RD$
  Route: Sosua - Puerto Plata -Santiago.
  Departure schedule at 6:15 AM and then every hour, last bus at 7:15 PM.

  Santiago to Sosua, cost : 80 RD$
  Route: Santiago - Puerto Plata - Sosua.
  Departure schedule at 9:00 AM and then every hour, last bus at 5:00 PM.

  Sosua to Samana ------ Canceled ------
  Route : Sosua - Gaspar Hernandez - Rio San Juan - Nagua - Sanchez (stop for Las terrenas) - Samana. (no stop in Cabarete)
  Departure schedule at 8:00 AM.

  Samana to Sosua, cost : RD$
  Route : Samana - Sanchez - Nagua - Rio San Juan - Gaspar Hernandez - Cabarete - Sosua.
  Departure schedule at 4:00 PM.

• Metro :

  Cost from Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata:
  Route: Santo Domingo − Santiago − Puerto Plata
  Departure Schedule: 6 AM and every hour, on the hour, until 11 AM; departing again at 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, with the last bus departing at 6:30 PM.

  Cost from Puerto Plata to Santo Domingo:
  Route: Puerto Plata − Santiago −Santo Domingo
  Departure Schedule: 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, with the last bus departing at 6:30 PM.

• Terra :

  Route from Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata:
  Santo Domingo − Santiago − Puerto Plata
  Hours of departure: 6:30 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 4:30 PM, 7:45 PM

  Route from Puerto Plata to Santo Domingo:
  Puerto Plata − Santiago − Santo Domingo
  Hours of departure: 6 AM, 7:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 3:30 PM, 7:45 PM.
