DECREES AND LAWS THAT PUNISH DRUG USING IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
The Dominican Government, promulgated law 168 of the 12 of May 1975, as a control mechanism, much for traffic as for drugs consumption, ordering to the National Police to operate by the fulfillment of this law and the way of the Department Against Narcotics.
- Law 105-87 of 25 November 1987 that orders to place in ports, airports, hotels and places frequented by tourists the inscription: "IN ALL THE TERITORY OF DOMINICAN REPUBLIC DEAL, POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF DRUGS AND NARCOTICS IS PENALIZED BY THE LAW".
- Law 50-88, "Law on Drugs and Controlled Substances in Dominican Republic ". (The Paragraph of article 76, and the articles from the 99 to the 115, countermanded by the Law No72-02, of 7 July 2002, against washing currency with illicit traffic of drugs, controlled substances and other serious infractions)
- Law 26-91 of 15 October 1991. G.O 9818, referring to campaigns, courses, programs of fight, education on addict drugs and rehabilitation of to narcotic drugs and controlled substances.
- Law 72-02, of date 7 of June of 2002, against washing currency with illicit traffic of drugs, controlled substances and other serious infractions.
- Decreto339-88, of 25 July 1988, that declares the 26 of June every year like "National Day of Fight against illegal drug using".
- Decree 288-96, that establishes the “Regulation of Law 50-88”. (the Art. 7, and Chapter I SAW, countermanded by the Law 72-02, of 7 June 2002, against washing currency with illicit traffic of drugs, controlled substances and other serious infractions)
- Decree 330-00 of 26 July 2000 that approves “Antidrug national plan 2000-2005”, elaborated by the National Drug Council.
- Decree 19-03, of 14 January 2003, that establishes the procedure for operation of the Safekeeping and Administration Office of seized drugs, created by Law 72-02, of date 7 of June 2002.
- Decree 20-03, of 14 January 2003, that establishes the Regulation of the Law 72-02, of 7 June 2002, against washing currency with illicit traffic of drugs, controlled substances and other serious infractions.
