The Labour Minister dates of the public holidays for the year 2007 :
There will be 12 holiday days, four of which have been moved from their original dates. The minister reminded everyone that Dominican law (139-97 dated 19 June 1997) states that, if public holidays fall on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, then they may be moved to the following Monday.
- Monday first of January (New Year Day).
- Saturday 6 January (Three Kings).
- Sunday 21 of January (Altagracia Day).
- Friday 26 of January (Duarte Day): is moved to Monday 29 of January
- Tuesday 27 of February (Independence Day).
- Friday 6 of April (Good Friday).
- Tuesday 1st. of May (Labour Day): is moved to Monday 30 of April.
- Thursday 1 of June (Corpus Christi).
- Thursday 16 of August (Restauration Day): is moved to Monday 20 of August.
- Monday 24 of September (Mercedes Day).
- Tuesday 6 of November (Constitution Day) : is moved to Monday 5 of November.
- Tuesday 25 of December (Christmas Day).
